Ferreira stated via the FIFA website after the match: "I think we achieved a very fair victory, and we could have scored one or two additional goals, so I accept the result, and now we will rest and prepare for the next match."

Ferreira acknowledged the difficulty of the match, praising the strength of Al Ahly, as he stated: "We were lucky; sometimes we forget who we are playing against, they are the most successful team in Africa. It was a tough match; this is the third time we have played against Al Ahly. They are also accustomed to these competitions, so it was not an easy match for either team."

Palmeiras currently tops the group standings with 4 points, tied with Inter Miami, while Al Ahly is at the bottom of the group with 1 point.
