Reports have revealed an meeting between Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, and Niko Williams' agent, the star of Athletic Bilbao, to discuss the possibility of the player transferring to the Catalan team during the summer transfer window.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Felix Tinta, Niko Williams' agent, requested the meeting to understand Barcelona's final stance on the deal, especially given the player's desire to remain in La Liga if he leaves Bilbao.

Niko Williams has good relationships with several Barcelona players and is open to the idea of moving to Camp Nou if he receives assurances from coach Hans Flick and confirmation of his registration in the team's La Liga roster.

However, Barcelona's management prefers to sign Colombian Luis Diaz, the star of Liverpool, and considers that Niko has missed the opportunity to join the team after rejecting the previous offer last summer.

Williams has a release clause in his contract with Bilbao worth 62 million euros, and the Basque club is keen to renew his contract. In contrast, both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have shown interest in signing the player and have expressed their willingness to pay the release clause and make attractive financial offers, although the option to move outside Spain is not currently a priority for the player.
