The French national team midfielder Aurélien Chouameni appeared in press statements after the 2-0 victory over Germany in the third-place match of the UEFA Nations League.

The player said: "We did not start the match well, but after twenty minutes we became more cohesive, and in the end, I think we deserved to win."

He added: "We showed a great performance. The system is different, especially in attack, but defensively, we need to adapt to the opponent. We changed something defensively after twenty minutes, and we became better after that."

He continued: "We were very open and very cohesive, so we decided to put more players in the midfield to allow them to pass on the sides."

He concluded: "Our attackers have exceptional qualities, and we must take advantage of them (...) Mbappe knows that he will face criticism no matter what happens. And he showed that it does not affect him at all today."
