The Saudi team achieved a victory against Bahrain with a score of 2-0 this evening in the ninth and penultimate round of Group C in the third stage of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup.
Renard stated in the press conference after the match that the conditions need to be very good for the team to secure a qualification spot, noting that the task has become more difficult for direct qualification, but the players must try to qualify "even if through the window," as he put it.
The Green needs to win 5-0 against Australia next Tuesday to secure direct qualification.
With today's result, Saudi Arabia has at least secured a spot in the playoff.
