Deschamps: I Don't Want to Embarrass the Real Madrid Duo
Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, spoke about Real Madrid's decision not to allow the duo Aurélien Tchouameni and Kylian Mbappé to join the French national team's camp early, in order to get more rest.
The national team's camp began yesterday, Friday, while FIFA has set Monday as the final deadline for players to join their national teams.
Deschamps said: "Mbappé and Tchouameni will arrive on Monday afternoon for the national team camp."
He added: "Honestly, the players were ready to come on Friday, but Real Madrid is committed to the rules, and the deadline set by FIFA is June 2. I don't want to put the players in an embarrassing position with their club."
He concluded: "Mbappé, as the captain, wanted to join the national team camp immediately, but this is the reality."
