Officially: Bayern Munich Announces Contract with Jonathan Tah
Today, Thursday, Bayern Munich announced its official signing of the German international defender Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer, with a contract that extends until June 30, 2029.
Tah, who is 29 years old, will wear the number 4 shirt with the Bavarian giant after completing a long and distinguished career with Leverkusen, during which he won a historic treble: the league, the cup, and the super cup in the 2023/2024 season.
Jonathan Tah expressed his excitement for a new beginning with Bayern Munich, stating: "I am very happy to join a club of Bayern Munich's stature, and I look forward to taking on responsibility and working daily to achieve collective success and win more titles."
Sporting director Christoph Freund commented: "By signing Tah, we have added a player with high international competence and distinctive technical leadership; there is no doubt he will quickly establish himself in the lineup and represent a qualitative addition to the team."
For his part, Max Eberl, a member of the board for sporting affairs, said: "We have been following Tah for a long time, and we appreciate his strong character and ability to take responsibility both on and off the field. Despite receiving several offers, he chose to join Bayern, which makes us very happy."
