Real Madrid Club de Fútbol has announced the appointment of Álvaro Arbeloa as the new head coach of the youth team "Castilla", succeeding club legend Raúl González, who left his position at the end of the 2024/2025 season after years of service.

Arbeloa, who began his coaching career within the youth teams at Real Madrid in 2020, has led various age group teams, most recently the under-19 team since 2022, before taking on the role of coaching Castilla in a new step in his coaching career.

Arbeloa has a distinguished record as a player, having worn the Real Madrid jersey during two periods, playing 238 matches for the first team between 2009 and 2016, during which he won numerous titles, including the UEFA Champions League twice, La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Internationally, Arbeloa was one of the pillars of Spain's golden generation, participating in the 2010 World Cup victory, along with Euro titles in 2008 and 2012, and he has played 56 international matches.
