
Renaissance Berkane Wins African Confederation Cup
The Moroccan club Renaissance Berkane succeeded in clinching the title of the African Confederation Cup despite a positive draw today in the return leg of the final against Tanzanian Simba with a score of 1-1.
In today's return match, Simba's goal was scored by Joshua Motali in the 17th minute of the match, while Renaissance Berkane equalized through Soumaïla Sidibe in the 90+3rd minute.
The first leg had ended with Renaissance Berkane winning by two clean goals, allowing the Moroccan team to claim the championship title as they won the aggregate score of the two matches 3-1.
Renaissance Berkane had successfully qualified for the Confederation Cup final after overcoming the Algerian team, CS Constantine, in the semi-finals with a score of (4-1) on aggregate, while Simba advanced at the expense of Egyptian club Al-Masry after drawing in both legs (2-2) and winning on penalties.
