Al-Zawraa Crosses Borders with a Clean Double in the Stars League
Tuesday 20-05-2025
Al-Zawraa continued its significant pressure on the top of the standings and achieved a well-deserved and convincing victory over Al-Hudood with a score of 2-0, in the match held on Tuesday evening at the Ahmad Rady Stadium, as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Stars League.

The match had a clear tactical character from the first minutes, as Al-Zawraa dominated the ball and imposed its rhythm in the midfield, while Al-Hudood organized their retreat and made defensive attempts to contain the danger posed by the Al-Nawras players.

However, this balance did not last long, as the 23rd minute witnessed the first moments of brilliance from Al-Zawraa, when the Nigerian professional Tomiwa cleverly set up a ball outside the penalty area, which reached the shining star Hassan Abdul Karim “Qoqia” who did not hesitate to shoot it powerfully and accurately, settling into the right corner of Al-Hudood's goal, announcing a beautiful goal that gave his team the advantage.

After the goal, Al-Zawraa continued to press in search of enhancing their lead, while Al-Hudood tried to break out of their areas and threaten Jalal Hassan's goal, but their attempts were limited and lacked real danger, in light of the solidity of the white defense line.

In the second half, Al-Zawraa continued to dominate the proceedings of the match and managed to score the second goal in the 63rd minute, when Al-Mundhir Al-Alawi exploited a mistake in the positioning of Al-Hudood's defense, breaking away from the goalkeeper and calmly placing the ball into the net, confirming Al-Nawras's superiority in the match and translating the performance advantage into a comfortable result.

Al-Hudood tried to reduce the deficit in the final minutes, but without any real effectiveness, amidst a relative retreat from Al-Zawraa to maintain the score and avoid any surprises. The remaining minutes witnessed nothing noteworthy, as the referee blew the final whistle with a well-deserved victory for Al-Zawraa by two goals to none.

With this victory, Al-Zawraa raised its tally to 74 points, continuing its direct pursuit of Al-Police at the top of the standings, benefiting from consistent performance and achieving victories in the crucial stages of the season, while Al-Hudood's situation became more complicated, remaining in twentieth place and getting closer to relegation to the first division.
