Conceição: Video technology always does us injustice, and Milan deserves more than that

The head coach of AC Milan, Sergio Conceição, expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the decisions of the video referees, especially after the red card given to Santiago Giménez during the 3-1 defeat against Roma.

Conceição said: "The atmosphere was difficult after losing the Coppa Italia final against Bologna, and it worsened after the defeat to Roma. During the five months I have spent here, most of the decisions have been against us, whether due to our mistakes or those of others."

The Portuguese coach spoke about the incident of Giménez's red card, saying: "I am not saying that the red card was unjustified; I did not see the incident clearly, but what surprises me is that the same video referees who officiated today's match were the ones present in the cup final, when a Bologna player committed the same foul against Gabia, and there was no intervention."

He added: "The match against Roma was difficult from the start, and after the red card, it became more complicated."

Conceição confirmed: "Roma barely touched the ball in the first half; we created real chances with Leão and Luka, but we lost energy in the end and conceded the third goal. We should not concede a goal from a set piece like that."

The Portuguese coach was also sent off for protesting, which means he will miss the final match of the season, and he commented on this by saying: "I am a coach who lives the matches with passion, and all I asked for is respect. I did not insult anyone; I just expressed my anger at a clear mistake that led to a second goal against us."

He continued: "I feel sad that I will not be with the players in the last match, but we must remain united until the end. It has been a difficult season, and we all must take responsibility."

When asked about his assessment of the time he spent with Milan, Conceição said: "I cannot say that the five months were perfect; yes, we lost important matches, but we won the Italian Super Cup and reached the cup final."

He concluded his statements by saying: "This is a historic club that only accepts titles; we all need to evaluate what we have done and sit down later to make the right decision. I am proud of what I have contributed and happy with the players who fought despite everything."
