Real Madrid Targets 3 Players to Strengthen Midfield
Xabi Alonso, the new head coach of Real Madrid, has requested the signing of a midfielder during the summer transfer window in preparation for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States next summer.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid has placed three names on the transfer table to strengthen the midfield: Ezequiel Palacios from Bayer Leverkusen, German Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart, and Dutch Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan.
Stiller is considered the preferred option within the club, especially given his impressive performance this season, with a market value of around 40 million euros.
The newspaper confirmed that Alonso emphasized in his discussions with the club's management the necessity of acquiring a midfielder capable of revitalizing performance in this position and contributing to building attacks and ball progression smoothly, without necessarily being a substitute for Toni Kroos.
In addition to strengthening the midfield, Real Madrid is also working on bolstering the left-back position, with Alvaro Carerras being the closest name, alongside other options on the table, notably Grimaldo.
