Ahmed Attif, a former star of Al-Shabab Club, expressed his opinion on the establishment of an honor guard for Al-Ittihad players following their crowning as champions of the Saudi League.

Attif pointed out in a television interview that the final decision rests with the management of Al-Shabab, considering that Al-Ittihad has won the championship regardless of whether the honor guard is established or not.

On the other hand, Hamad Al-Muntashiri, a former star of Al-Ittihad, predicted that Al-Shabab players would create an honor guard, describing it as a natural act in such occasions.

Al-Muntashiri confirmed that the relationship between the two clubs allows for this kind of recognition, reflecting the values of sportsmanship and fair competition between the two teams.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Shabab Club previously refused to establish an honor guard for Al-Ahli players after they were crowned champions of the AFC Champions League in 2025, which sparked widespread controversy.
