Kompany: We Will Not Make It Easy for Hoffenheim, and Player Rest Was Necessary
Friday 16-05-2025
Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bayern Munich, confirmed that his team will not make things easy for their hosts Hoffenheim in the last rounds of the German league, despite officially winning the championship title this season.

Kompany said at the press conference on Friday: "We won the title thanks to hard work, and we cannot give any opponent a chance to win against us."

He warned of the relegation danger that threatens Hoffenheim, who is in fifteenth place, just three points ahead of Heidenheim, who is in the third from the bottom, with a goal difference of 6 goals, adding: "The match against Hoffenheim will be very difficult, and we need to prepare well."

Regarding the rest period that some Bayern players received after the last match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Kompany explained: "We gave the players some time to rest, and this was a media topic, but my focus was on the Hoffenheim match."

He continued: "We have a whole week to prepare, and it has been a good week to prepare for the next match."

Several players from the team, including Thomas Müller, Harry Kane, and Manuel Neuer, traveled to Ibiza for a short vacation, which sparked controversy and criticism despite the season not being over yet. Kompany indicated that the club has stopped similar trips in the future to maintain the public image.

Regarding the participation of player Jamal Musiala, who has been absent since April due to a muscle injury, Max Eberl, a member of Bayern's board for sports affairs, said: "We are keen on Musiala's health and always talk with the player about the best options; the most important thing is that he is in good health and high fitness."

Eberl added: "Musiala aspires to play with the German national team in the UEFA Nations League and the Club World Cup, and we are closely monitoring his condition."

For his part, Kompany confirmed: "The injury was not simple, and we will always support the players to play with their national teams, and we will discuss the situation with the medical staff in the coming weeks."
