Ancelotti: We Did Not Grant Barcelona the Title, What We Did I Have Never Seen Before
Thursday 15-05-2025
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference after the 2-1 victory over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in the 36th round of La Liga.

The coach said in his remarks: "The team delivered a great performance, and they fought fiercely throughout the match. It was definitely a deserved victory; everyone put in a great effort, and we are very happy. We didn't start this match well, but the team performed well in all aspects."

He added: "Today the team did not give up despite the difficulties we faced; the team appeared great collectively and individually. I have never seen a team shoot 40 times on goal as we did today."

He continued: "How did you feel today? It was no different; every time I sit on the bench at the Bernabeu, I feel a special feeling just like every other time. When I leave, I will be at peace, as I have done my best. I enjoyed my time, and football does not end; my team will always strive to win until the last moment."

He added: "We are still in the competition for La Liga; today we did not give them a chance to win the title, so they have to play their match tomorrow, and anything can happen in football."

He followed: "We played wonderfully offensively today; in this type of match, we struggle to score, and we have conceded many goals this season for various reasons, including the absence of four or five defenders we always have."

He continued: "Managing the team was very simple and without any problems; managing this group was good because all the players showed me the necessary respect, and in this sense, I did not face any problems with the players. We faced issues with balance on the pitch, injuries... we couldn't fix them."

Regarding Jesus Vallejo: "I love him a lot because he hasn't participated much, but he has always been professional in all the training sessions. It was complicated, and as I mentioned before, we preferred younger players like Asensio."

He concluded: "We will regain Tchouaméni for the next match, and there are doubts about the readiness of Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius, and Brahim Diaz. Andriy Lunin suffered a hand injury and may recover in time."
