Karkh Coach: The Result is Harsh but We Will Learn from It and Come Back Stronger
Tuesday 13-05-2025
Karkh coach Ahmed Khalaf expressed his sadness over the heavy loss his team suffered against Al-Shorta with a score of 4-0 in the 33rd round of the Iraqi Premier League, while also confirming that the team is still having an acceptable season considering its circumstances and capabilities, and that the goal now is to correct mistakes and quickly regain balance.

Ahmed Khalaf said in statements after the match:

"First of all, I congratulate Al-Shorta on their victory; they played a strong match and deserved the win. As for us, honestly, the result does not fully reflect the picture we showed in some periods of the match, but that is the nature of football; those who do not score receive goals."

He added:

"We knew that facing Al-Shorta would not be easy, especially given their experience and depth; we tried to keep up with them and succeeded at times, but we lost focus in the back areas and made individual mistakes that cost us crucial goals."

He continued:

"I take full responsibility and do not blame the players, because we do not have the same bench or options as the big teams. Nevertheless, we are still in a good position for a newly promoted team, and that credit goes to everyone."

Ahmed Khalaf concluded his remarks:

"The road is not over yet. We promise Karkh fans that we will fight to end the season in the best possible way, and we must learn from such big matches to become more mature in the coming seasons."
