Sevilla Condemns Violence After Loss to Celta
The Spanish club Sevilla condemned the actions that took place after the match they lost in La Liga against Celta Vigo "2-3", where a number of fans engaged in violent acts.
The statement read: "The team's sporting situation does not meet our expectations, and we understand that this will lead to protests, but such protests will not be accepted under any circumstances if they are accompanied by assaults, threats, or acts of vandalism."
The Andalusian club mentioned that it would file complaints with the relevant authorities against anyone who publicly attacked its staff and published private information on social media and media outlets, actions which constitute a crime. It also stated it would report the "assaults and acts" that occurred at the sports city.
It pointed out that it would not hesitate to pursue the perpetrators of these crimes and would attempt to assist in identifying those involved in the mentioned actions, and would act relentlessly even if they were fans or members of the club.
Sevilla concluded its statement by saying that "the club is confident that these actions do not represent Sevilla's fans, who also recognize the importance of the match on Tuesday against Las Palmas at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán."
