Sevilla FC officially announced the appointment of Spanish coach Luis Garcia Plaza as the new head coach of the first team, replacing Argentine Matias Almeyda, who was recently dismissed due to a decline in results.

The contract with García Plaza came amid a difficult situation for the team in the Spanish league, as it is nearing the relegation zone. This prompted the management to move quickly in search of a coach capable of restoring balance and leading the team in the crucial stage of the season.

The new coach has extensive experience in Spanish football, having previously managed several clubs, most notably Getafe, Villarreal, Levante, Real Mallorca, and Deportivo Alavés. He has also had international stints with Baniyas in the UAE and Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia, providing him with diverse experience in handling various situations.
