Ali Abdul Jabbar: We returned in the dying moments but lost two important points
Thursday 08-05-2025
The coach of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Ali Abdul Jabbar, expressed partial satisfaction with his team's performance after the dramatic draw against Al-Minaa with a score of 2-2, in the match that took place at Al-Minaa Stadium in the 32nd round of the Iraqi Stars League, noting that the match was difficult and complicated from the start, and that his team did not show their full potential, but proved their determination to come back at a crucial moment.

Abdul Jabbar said: "We knew that facing Al-Minaa would not be easy, especially on their home ground and in front of their fans. The Al-Minaa team played a great match, managed to pressure us, and exploited some gaps, but we did not perform at the level we hoped for."

He continued: "We made some defensive mistakes, which led to two early goals that put us under additional pressure. We missed opportunities that could have restored balance sooner, but haste and lack of focus prevented the team from scoring."

He added: "Despite everything, I am proud of the players because they did not give up and continued to fight until the last minute. The goal scored by Issam Al-Sabhi in the dying moments reflects the spirit we want to maintain in the upcoming rounds."

He concluded: "We undoubtedly lost two important points, and we could have come away with a victory if we had handled some opportunities better. Now we need to close the chapter on this match and think about the upcoming encounters."

He emphasized: "The league is still relatively long, and every point is important. We need greater balance, high concentration, and to work hard in the coming days if we want to stay in the competition until the end."
