Basra Oil defender Haidar Adel expressed his deep sadness after his team's loss to Duhok by a goal to nil in the 31st round of the Iraqi Stars League, confirming that the players feel a great responsibility towards the team's situation, and they will give everything they have in the upcoming rounds to save the season.

He said: "The loss was painful; we were hoping for points from the match since it was on our home ground, but unfortunately, we made some mistakes, and Duhok capitalized on one of them and scored the winning goal."

He continued: "We are going through a very difficult phase, and every match for us is a final, and every point can make a difference in the standings, so we feel a heavy burden, but we will not raise the white flag."

He added: "In the dressing room, there is full awareness of the seriousness of the situation, and we must show a real reaction in the upcoming rounds, because continuing with this performance does not serve the team."

He concluded: "We will work to correct mistakes quickly, and we will fight until the last round of the league, because the fate of the team is in our hands and any negligence will come at a high price."
