Walid Salah El-Din: Zed Management Made This Mistake in the Last Transfer Market
Walid Salah El-Din, the director of football at Zed Club, confirmed that the management made a mistake by refusing to sell some players and buy others in the last winter transfer market.
He stated in radio remarks: "We received offers for our players amounting to 280 million pounds, from Zamalek, Al Ahly, and abroad, following their impressive performance."
He added: "The management insisted on keeping the players and maintaining the team for the current season with all its elements, but we have learned the lesson and we should have sold some players and bought others."
He continued: "Zed does not open its coffers or budgets, and the highest-paid player receives 7 or 8 million pounds, and we rely on our policy of youth, in addition to some second-division players."
He completed: "Some have started to hold us accountable as if we were Ceramica or Pyramids or the National Bank, due to the impressive performance in the first season, but we have a clear vision regarding expenses and revenues."
He concluded: "It was necessary to adjust the contracts of some players like Ziko, especially since the players had offers with salaries exceeding three times their current salaries."
