Women's Medal in Al-Sheibi's Celebration of the Egypt Cup

Press reports clarified the details of the controversy surrounding the medal of Moroccan player Mohamed El Shibi from Pyramids Club during the ceremony of his team's crowning as Egypt Cup champions. The player appeared with a medal bearing incorrect information, which sparked widespread interaction on social media.

Pyramids succeeded in winning the Egypt Cup title after defeating Zed FC with a score of 2-1 in the final match held on Sunday evening, adding a second title to their achievements.

The award ceremony witnessed a controversy after images circulated of Mohamed Al-Sheibi wearing a medal that read "Women's First Division League Season 2025-2026," instead of the Egypt Cup championship details.

According to reports, the error came from the company responsible for supplying the medals, and a penalty was imposed on the supplier immediately after the incident was discovered.

The reports added that the Egyptian Football Association moved quickly to contain the situation and sent a new medal to Pyramids Club to compensate the player, especially since only Shibi's medal contained the error, unlike the other championship medals.

This title marks the second time in Pyramids' history that they have won the Egypt Cup, and it is also the second time the team has claimed the championship at the expense of Zed Club, having previously won the title in the 2024 season.
