Al-Zawraa Club Denies Rumors Regarding Al-Shorta Club and Confirms Its Stadium is Open to All
In a clarifying statement issued today, the interim administrative body of Al-Zawraa Sports Club denied all circulated statements in some media outlets and social media regarding the cancellation of the Asian license for Al-Shorta Club, confirming that these statements do not represent the club in any way and are not true.
The head of the interim administrative body of Al-Zawraa, Hossam Ali, stated in an official statement that the club's administration was surprised by the inclusion of Al-Zawraa's name in "misleading and baseless" statements, emphasizing that Al-Zawraa has not issued any statement or comment regarding the Asian license for Al-Shorta Club or any matter concerning it, calling for accuracy and reliance on official channels when conveying any information related to the club.
Hossam Ali added: "Al-Zawraa Club opens its doors and stadium to all clubs and sports entities, and we always strive for cooperation and openness to everyone, in a way that serves the interests of Iraqi football and enhances positive sporting atmospheres."
He also called on media outlets to deal responsibly and professionally when covering news about the club, and to verify news sources before publishing, confirming that any official information is issued only through the club's official pages and media channels.
This clarification comes after news circulated on some platforms indicating that Al-Zawraa Club decided to prevent Al-Shorta from playing in its stadium, in addition to discussions about an official position from the club regarding the Asian license file for Al-Shorta, which was categorically denied by Al-Zawraa's administration.
It is worth noting that the relationship between Al-Zawraa and Al-Shorta clubs has witnessed tension in recent days following the summit match between the two teams, which increased the pace of conflicting news, before Al-Zawraa Club stepped in to clarify its official position.
