Kompany: We Feel Disappointed, But We Look Forward to What’s Coming
The head coach of Bayern Munich, Vincent Kompany, made important statements after the team's elimination from the UEFA Champions League following a 4-3 aggregate defeat to Inter Milan.
Kompany said: "Football relies on details; if you look at the flow of the matches, we wouldn’t have wanted anything different except for the goals we conceded. We knew Inter Milan's strength in set pieces and counter-attacks, yet we created chances and were dangerous."
He added: "We will not play the final in Munich, and that is a painful truth, but life goes on, and so does football. We have other challenges ahead, and in two months, we will participate in the Club World Cup, and we will strive to win another title."
He continued: "It is natural to feel disappointed; this exit is painful, but we had our chances. We faced two great matches against one of the strongest teams in Europe right now. We must learn from this experience and look forward to what’s coming."
