Enrique: We are ready to face Aston Villa, and qualification is our goal
Spanish coach Luis Enrique of Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that his team faces a tough challenge against Aston Villa in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, emphasizing the need to be prepared to endure to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Paris Saint-Germain will visit Aston Villa tomorrow evening, Tuesday, at Villa Park, after the French team won the first leg 3-1.
Enrique said: "We must be ready to suffer, because those who prepare to suffer are the ones who are ready to win. The match will never be easy, and Aston Villa will seek to change everything at home."
He added: "Winning the first leg gives us an advantage, but nothing is guaranteed. The Champions League is full of candidates who have been eliminated despite leading in the first leg. Our goal is to prove that we have the level to qualify for the semi-finals."
Regarding Aston Villa's playing style, Enrique said: "I expect Unai Emery to play more offensively this time and try to regain possession close to our goal. They will have to take risks, which will make the match more exciting."
He explained: "Some teams dare to press high, and if Aston Villa does that, we might find more spaces than we faced in the first leg. We are ready to deal with all scenarios."
On the atmosphere at Villa Park, he said: "Playing in a historic stadium like Villa Park is always enjoyable. The passionate atmosphere is not a problem for us but an additional motivation. We want to have a great match in front of a full crowd."
Regarding handling overconfidence after the first-leg victory, Enrique stated: "There is no overconfidence in Paris; there is only focus and determination.
