The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah expressed his immense happiness after renewing his contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2027, confirming his desire for his Dutch teammate Virgil van Dijk to remain with the team in the upcoming period.

Salah's statements came after Liverpool won 2-1 against West Ham United in the match that brought the two teams together on Sunday evening as part of the 32nd round of the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah said: "West Ham is a good team, but the most important thing at this stage is the win, regardless of the method or style, because every point makes a difference in the title race."

Regarding the extension of his contract with Liverpool, he added: "I am very happy to renew my contract before the end of the season; it gives me stability and a greater motivation for what is to come with the team."
