Sampdoria has turned to the famous Italian coach Roberto Mancini to save it from relegation from the second division to the third division.

Sampdoria is currently in eighteenth place in the second division standings, and is therefore threatened with relegation to the third division, with 6 rounds remaining in the league.

However, Mancini will not be in the position of head coach for Samp, but will take on an administrative role, in an attempt to leverage his vast experience in football.

It is worth noting that Mancini is considered one of the historical stars of Sampdoria, having played for the team for 15 years.
