Vazquez: We Can Turn Things Around, and That's What Made the Difference

Real Madrid player Lucas Vazquez appeared in a press statement after the 3-0 loss against Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium.

The player said: "We were not at our best. Arsenal played a fantastic match, created chances, pressed hard, and we couldn't find our style of play. We had some isolated attempts in the opponent's areas, but we couldn't keep the ball for long periods or contain them in their area, and that's what made the difference."

He added: "In the second half, we didn't show the required reaction, we lacked continuity in our play, and we had the ball for a low percentage. We didn't put on a good performance."

Regarding the return match: "The situation is tough, but if there is a team in the world capable of turning things around, it's us, with our fans and at our stadium. Wednesday's match will be different from this one, and with everyone's efforts, we will overcome this challenge."

He concluded: "We are not used to losing two consecutive matches (after the loss to Valencia), we have no choice but to work and trust ourselves more than ever, and this team deserves everyone's trust. We will do everything we can to turn the result around and qualify."
