Nagelsmann: We can still improve, and that was our problem
German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann appeared in press statements after qualifying for the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, following a 3-3 draw against Italy in the quarter-finals, noting that the return match ended with Germany winning 2-1.
The coach said: "I think the first half was our best in terms of control, we were excellent with the ball and defensively offensively, and we scored three goals."
He added: "In the second half, we had to make changes because not all players could play for 90 minutes. We conceded the first goal, then the second, and doubts began to creep in."
He increased: "The biggest problem was that we made too many backward passes, unlike the first half."
He concluded: "I don't want to talk too much about the second half; I think the most important conclusion from these two matches is that we know what we can do, but we still need to improve. That was great for our development."
