Antonio Candreva Announces His Retirement from Football

Italian star Antonio Candreva announced today, Tuesday, his retirement from football at the age of 38, bringing an end to an 18-year career on the pitch, during which he shone at several major clubs such as Juventus, Inter Milan, and Lazio.

Candreva said in a video posted on his official accounts: "Dear football, today is one of the most important days of my life, it is time to say goodbye, here at San Siro, where I played my last match."

He added: "It has been an extraordinary journey spanning 30 years, filled with joys, sorrows, sacrifices, and victories. This is not a farewell, but a new beginning."

Candreva's last official match was in May 2024 with Salernitana against Milan, concluding his career after 502 matches in Serie A, during which he scored 85 goals, ranking 17th in the list of players with the most appearances in the history of the competition.

On the international level, Candreva represented the Italian national team in 54 matches and scored 7 goals, while his only title was the Coppa Italia in 2013 with Lazio, the club he made sure to bid farewell to through its official platforms.
