Mohamed Abdel Wahab Rejects Ramadan Sobhi's Return to Al Ahly
Mohamed Abdel Wahab, a former member of Al Ahly's board, believes that it would be a mistake to bring back Ramadan Sobhi, the star of Pyramids, to the ranks of the Red team.
He stated during the program "Stars in Ramadan" on Youth and Sports Radio: "I refuse Ramadan Sobhi's return to Al Ahly because he made a mistake by transferring to Pyramids, rejecting to stay at Al Ahly, which supported him to facilitate his professional move to England."
He pointed out: "Mohamed Shawky, the current football director at Al Ahly, traveled to England for a 48-hour trial when he was a player at Al Ahly without obtaining permission from the late Thabet Abdel Wahab, the team's football director at the time."
He continued: "Mohamed Shawky wanted to travel to England for a 48-hour trial and went without permission, which angered the late Thabet Abdel Wahab, who decided to suspend him. However, I intervened and told Captain Thabet Abdel Wahab that the punishment must be appropriate for the offense and that the player should not be 'slaughtered' for this mistake, especially since he traveled only for a trial. The late Thabet Abdel Wahab responded to my point of view, and they settled for imposing a financial fine on the player without suspending him."
