Mbappé: Winning Titles is More Important than Goals, We Achieved an Important Victory

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé spoke to the press following the 2-1 victory over Villarreal in La Liga's 28th round.

Mbappé said: "It was a very important and difficult match as it allowed us to be at the top of the table."

He added: "After the match against Atlético, which went into extra time, it was very tough, but we had to win today. We had the character and the desire to play and win. We fought and came back with the three points."

He continued: "Everyone saw the Atlético match; it was 120 minutes of intense and exciting play. We know why we are here; we must respect the badge and continue to fight until the end. We had to give our all, and that’s what we did today, and it was enough to win."

He emphasized: "I feel very good with the team and personally as well. I want to help achieve victories, and I hope to do more after the international break."

Regarding his 31 goals in his first season, surpassing the phenomenon Ronaldo and closing in on Cristiano Ronaldo (33 goals in his first season), he stated: "They are legends who have left their mark on an entire era. It’s important, but it’s just numbers. If I score more goals than Ronaldo and Cristiano, it doesn’t mean I’m better than them; it just means my first season is going better. The important thing is to help and win titles. Scoring goals is important, but it becomes more significant if we win the league, the Champions League, and the cup."
