Liverpool is facing a significant crisis ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United, following injuries to duo Alexander Arnold and Ibrahima Konate during their match against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, which ended with the Reds exiting on penalties.

According to the "Liverpool Echo," coach Arne Slot confirmed that Arnold's injury appears serious, and it is unlikely he will participate in the League Cup final next Sunday. Slot stated: "Arnold had to leave the pitch, and that's not a good sign. From what I've seen and heard, it seems serious, and I would be surprised if he is ready for the final."

As for defender Ibrahima Konate, the coach clarified that the player left in the second half of extra time due to fatigue and not a serious injury, confirming that he will be ready to face Newcastle United at Wembley.

Regarding the upcoming match, Slot added: "Mentally, there is nothing better than playing a final after a painful loss. This is football; we play to reach finals and win titles."
