Amorim: We Will Not Play This Way in the Future, and We Delivered a Good Performance
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim spoke to the press after the 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the 28th round of the Premier League.
The coach said: "I think we delivered a good performance. Of course, we don't want to play this way and defend a lot while giving the ball to the opponent. With all the matches and the characteristics of the players, [Victor] Lindelof, for example, hasn't played many matches, and Casemiro is more comfortable in this type of games."
He added: "We try to maintain the starting lineup until we score. When you concede a goal, the players get tired. We try to choose the best moments for high pressing.
He continued: "When you coach Manchester United, you can't play this way too often. You have to try to win the game. I know it can be frustrating for the fans at times; we have to deal with this, and sometimes we do things that don't get support."
Regarding the fans' protests before the match: "This club will never die; that is clear. You can feel it in the streets. This is a massive business, and perhaps all fans in this league sometimes feel it's hard to go to matches and pay for tickets. We want to put in a lot of effort for them. In the future, we will not play this way."
