Kompany: The first half is over, and this is what we need to do in the second leg
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany spoke to the press after the victory over Leverkusen 3-0 in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the Champions League.
The coach said: "The first half is over, and we are fully focused on the second leg."
He added: "It was the most important match of the season so far, but we hope to play more important matches. We remain calm as we always have, and we have shown that we are always ready."
He continued: "We did many things right; otherwise, you wouldn't be able to win against such a team. We need to replicate what we did well today next week. This is not the time to praise ourselves; of course, the players can be happy, but we will shift our focus to the Bochum match and then on Tuesday against Leverkusen."
Regarding the injury of Kompany and his substitution: "I don't have any information about Manuel Neuer, but he definitely got injured while celebrating the first goal; it seems to be a leg injury. We have to wait and see."
On goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, who made his debut with the team: "There are easier matches to make your debut. He is very calm and confident. I won't put any pressure on him; we have always utilized the team in all positions, and we need to continue doing so. We know we have talent in our team for that."
