Tottenham coach: It was important to win, and we may see the light at the end of the tunnel
Tottenham coach Angie Postekoglu appeared in press statements, after beating Manchester United 1-0 in the 25th round of the Premier League.
"It was important to win today, we can definitely play better, but when we make some players gain speed and start growth," the coach said in his speech.
And on the importance of James Madison and Joghllo Vicario: "They are good players. We had to play a very difficult match in the past two months. It is great to restore these players and players who participated and contributed."
And about the match: "I think our pressure was better. We made it difficult for United to go out and this certainly helped get a ground in the match. Our performance seemed sharp. The movements of the front third were somewhat missing."
He stressed: "We lacked some smoothness in the front third. We will improve and need it, but it was a decent effort. They are all keen to go out there but the rhythm of the match comes with play."
He noted: "As you train, playing a football match is different. Vicario and Madysius treated well with it, it was great to have some time with Brennan Johnson and Welson Odubert. We will need them. We still feel that we have a chance to appear better."
"Our training was better and I was confident that we would make a good shift. The focus is still trying to win matches. In the background, we do this in our own way. We are looking for ways we can do things better, but we will not be the only one."
And: "There will be a few players who come to my world in the coming period and people will see that it is not just a reflection of the people concerned, but rather the conditions that were dealt with, we had a few players who did not get at all."
He concluded: "Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?
