About the Team

The Slovakia national football team is the official representative of the Slovak Republic in international competitions, overseen by the Slovak Football Association (SFZ), which was established in 1938 and joined FIFA and UEFA in 1994 after the country's independence from Czechoslovakia. The Slovak team participated in the World Cup once in 2010, achieving a notable accomplishment by reaching the Round of 16, and also took part in the Euro 2016 and 2020 tournaments. The team is known by the nickname "Tatra Falcons" (Repre alebo Sokoli) and plays its matches at the national stadium in Bratislava.
