About the Team

The Oman national football team is the official representative of the Sultanate of Oman in international tournaments, and it is overseen by the Oman Football Association (OFA), which was established in 1978 and joined FIFA in 1980 and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the same year. The Omani team is considered one of the prominent teams in the Arabian Gulf region, and it is nicknamed the 'Omani Red.' It has achieved notable accomplishments such as qualifying for the Asian Cup several times and winning the Arabian Gulf Cup twice (in 2009 and 2017). The team plays its matches at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat and sometimes at other venues within the Sultanate, featuring professional players from the local league and some players in Gulf leagues.
