About the Team

Croatia. The Croatian national football team is the official representative of Croatia in international tournaments, and it is overseen by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), which was established in 1912 and joined FIFA in 1992 after the country's independence from the former Yugoslavia. The Croatian team is considered one of the strongest modern European teams, achieving its best results in the 2018 World Cup when it reached the final and lost to France, as well as securing third place in the 1998 World Cup. The team is known by the nickname "Vatreni" (the Blazers) and is famous for its attacking and organized style of play. It plays official matches at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb and sometimes at other venues within the country.
