The Saudi national team announced today, Monday, the success of the surgery performed by Salman Al-Faraj, the star of Al-Akhdar and NEOM Club.
The player had suffered an injury to the cruciate ligament during his country's national team training before the match against Australia in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Saudi national team said in a statement on the “X” platform: “The national team and NEOM club player, Salman Al-Faraj, underwent surgery this evening, at Aspetar Hospital in the capital.” Qatar Airways Doha underwent surgery on the cruciate ligament, which was crowned with success, praise be to God.
He added: “A rehabilitative treatment plan has been drawn up, with the national team’s medical staff following up for the next stage. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
