Abdul Rahman Al-Roumi, the former Saudi national team player, expressed his regret over the poor results of Al-Akhdar in the recent period.
Saudi Arabia lost 2-0 yesterday, Tuesday, to Indonesia, in the sixth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Thus, the Saudi team did not succeed in achieving victory for the fourth consecutive match in the qualifiers as it lost to Japan and Indonesia with the same score (2-0) and tied 0-0 with Bahrain and Australia.
Al-Roumi said on the “X” platform: “What is happening to Al-Akhdar is shameful... Leave, everyone. I don’t feel sorry for you. We were qualifying when there were only two teams from Asia, now it is eight and a half, and unfortunately our team is closer to leaving.”
Abdul Rahman Al-Rumi’s speech comes in reference to the necessity of the departure of the Saudi Federation headed by Yasser Al-Mashal, which is facing violent attacks in the Saudi sports community.
He concluded: “The first step towards change is to dismiss the coach (Reynard) because he is a wrong choice in addition to what he presented previously, and to employ a national coach while dismissing the administrative staff of our team.”
