Blanc talks about his team's victory over Al-Ahly

Saudi Al-Ittihad coach Laurent Blanc spoke about the victory his team achieved yesterday, Thursday, over Al-Ahly in the league.

Al-Ittihad achieved a 1-0 victory over Al-Ahly in the ninth round of the Saudi League.

Blanc said in the press conference after the match: “Benzema’s absence surprised Al-Ahly, because they thought he would participate, but Saleh Al-Shehri succeeded in replacing him and bringing us victory.”

He added: “Benzema felt some pain in his back muscle, so that’s the matter.” It looks complicated and the player needs to rest, because he is an important pillar in the squad, and we will wait to see what happens during this week.”

He continued: “I am not happy with the level, especially in the second half, because Al-Ahly was the best, as my team suffered from fatigue due to playing 3 matches in one week, unlike Al-Ahly, which had more rest.”

He continued: “We were supposed to enter between halftime with the score (2-0), but we did not take advantage of the opportunities we had in the desired manner, and what is most important to me is to achieve victory and make the fans happy.”
