Rodrigo Pavia, the official spokesman for the Brazilian national team, explained the reason for the exclusion of Neymar, the Al Hilal player, from the “Samba” list called up for the September camp.
Neymar has been absent from the field since he suffered a tear in the cruciate ligament and knee cartilage while participating with the Brazilian national team in a match last September.
Pavia said in his statements that Neymar was excluded from Brazil’s list due to his lack of readiness and recovery from Al-Salibi’s injury that he sustained last year.
Pavia stated that Neymar’s exclusion is considered normal because he has not played any match yet after his injury, and he will begin returning to the field gradually in the coming period.
He added: “Such matches are at a high level of competitiveness, so it is dangerous for the Al Hilal star to participate in them while he has not yet returned to the stadiums normally.”
He continued: “It is difficult to include Neymar in the Brazilian roster even though he has not completed the qualification program allocated to him. The player must be 100% ready to guarantee his place with the national team.”
