Barcelona await Eric Garcia and Christensen's fitness ahead of Atlético clash
Hans Flick, the manager of FC Barcelona, is looking forward to the team's final training session to finalize the status of Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen, and to determine their availability for the match against Atlético on Sunday in LaLiga.
Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reports that the duo are the only candidates to return, according to the development of their condition during recent training sessions, with greater optimism regarding Erik Garcia's readiness.
Andreas Christensen has been sidelined since suffering a muscle injury in his left thigh during the match against Sevilla on September 19. Meanwhile, Eric García sustained a right thigh injury against Real Betis on October 17, and FC Barcelona has estimated his absence to be between 3 and 4 weeks.
The newspaper clarified that Flick will not risk playing any player before ensuring their fitness, while Jules Koundé's chances of making the match appear slim due to an ankle sprain.
The clash holds significant importance in the title race, with FC Barcelona on 30 points compared to Atlético's 28. Meanwhile, Xavi Espart, Dani Olmo, and Rodri continue their rehabilitation programs in preparation for their return after the upcoming international break.
