Kovač reveals Guirassy's situation and Sabitzer's return, praises Bellingham's development
Niko Kovač, the head coach of Borussia Dortmund, has revealed the latest updates regarding the condition of several players in his squad during the press conference ahead of the match against SV Elversberg, scheduled for tomorrow.
Niko Kovač has explained that Serhou Guirassy is suffering from a muscle tear, and therefore will not be available to participate in the match. He pointed out that there has been communication with the national federation to prevent the player from traveling and to allow him to stay at the club to receive the necessary treatment.
In contrast, the coach's statements carried positive news regarding Marcel Sabitzer, as he confirmed his return to training after recovering from illness, making him an available option for the coaching staff ahead of tomorrow's match.
Niko Kovač praised Jude Bellingham's development, confirming that the player has put in a lot of effort to improve his level. He also possesses exceptional self-control and discipline in his work, describing him as "obsessed with football," referring to his great passion for the game and his continuous desire to develop.
Regarding the non-call-up of Max Meyer to the German national team, Niko Kovač clarified that the decision rests with coach Jürgen Klopp, emphasizing that the club's role is to continue supporting the player and working on his development, regardless of international call-up decisions.
Speaking about the team's goals before the international break, Kovač stressed the importance of finishing the current series of matches with a positive result, explaining that the coaching staff is working on improving the team's ability to secure victories early on and avoiding entering tense situations during the final minutes, after highlighting the importance of better managing the flow of matches.
