Inzaghi: Ready for Shabab Al-Ahli, decision on injured players after final training
Italian coach Simone Inzaghi has confirmed that Al-Hilal are prepared to face Shabab Al-Ahli tomorrow, Tuesday, in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League Elite, emphasizing that his goal is to achieve victory and deliver a strong performance.
Inzaghi clarified during the press conference that the status of the injured players will be determined after the final training session, given Gabriel Martinelli's injury and the uncertainty surrounding Rúben Neves, Chrisensio Summerville, and Salem Al-Dawsari's readiness before making the final decision regarding their participation.
Al-Hilal's coach pointed out that he has several options to determine the starting lineup, despite the difficulty of the congested matches and their close timings, confirming that the coaching staff is working to avoid injuries and maintain the players' readiness.
Inzaghi added that he sees Al-Hilal presenting strong performances offensively and defensively, after a year and a half in charge, confirming the continuation of daily work to develop the team. He also urged the fans to attend and support the players.
In contrast, the Portuguese André Jardim, coach of Shabab Al-Ahli, described the match as difficult and complex, pointing out that his team is aware of Al-Hilal's strength and continental standing, but is preparing to deliver a strong performance despite having faced a tough match recently.
Jardim emphasized that defensive solidity and attention to detail are key to achieving a positive result. He also thanked Saudi Arabia for the warm welcome, confirming that his players are ready to take on the challenge.
Yusuf Akçiçek, Al-Hilal defender, confirmed that his team aims to collect all three points by taking advantage of playing at home and in front of their fans.
Pointing out that the support of the fans represents an additional incentive, he continues to work for the team whether he participates as a starter or a substitute, expressing his happiness with the tactical development and working under the guidance of Inzaghi.
