Barcelona monitor Estival's situation at Chelsea amid reduced appearances

The future of Brazilian Estivão is raising questions at Chelsea as he has not received the expected playing time in his second season at Stamford Bridge. This situation has attracted the attention of Barcelona, who continue to monitor his situation.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that the player has participated for only 172 minutes across 8 matches in the Premier League and the EFL Cup this season, having played 6 league matches all as a substitute, without scoring or assisting any goals.

Questions are growing about his situation after Chelsea exited the League Cup against Liverpool, where Estefao warmed up without participating. The player is admired by Deco, the sporting director of Barcelona, who knows his potential well.

Xabi Alonso discussed the player's situation during the press conference ahead of the match against Manchester United, confirming that he will get opportunities to participate, saying: "Yes, of course he will play, the season is long, and there will be moments when everyone gets their chance."

Chelsea's manager admitted he understands Estefao's dissatisfaction with his limited appearances, confirming that it is not a matter of his behaviour or commitment, but rather the context of the matches and the start of the season, noting that the player has a strong desire to adapt.

Regarding the possibility of a loan move during the winter transfer window, Alonso denied any discussions on the matter, stating: "No, there are no talks regarding that," reaffirming his commitment to the player and his confidence in him taking on a bigger role as the season progresses.
