FC Barcelona eyeing Leeds United defender ahead of summer 2027 move
FC Barcelona are continuing their search for reinforcements in defense due to recurring injuries, and the name of Bosnian Tarik Muharemovic, a defender for Leeds United, has emerged on the list of players being monitored by the Catalan club, according to TEAMtalk.
Moharimovic, who is 23 years old, joined Leeds United last summer for €37 million and has become an important part of the English team, benefiting from his defensive abilities and strength in the air thanks to his height of 1.92 meters.
The Bosnian defender has participated in all ten matches that Leeds United have played this season, contributing two assists in the Premier League and scoring one goal in the EFL Cup against Chelsea.
The report indicated that FC Barcelona are studying the possibility of moving to sign the player in the summer of 2027, but they are facing competition from Inter, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich, with particular interest from the Italian club.
Moharimovic previously played with US Sassuolo in Serie A, and Inter inquired about the possibility of signing him last summer, in anticipation of a potential departure of Alessandro Bastoni.
In contrast, Leeds United are not intending to part ways with their defender after a short period since his arrival, especially with his market value that could exceed €70 million, which is nearly double the amount the club paid to sign him.
