Gattuso: We are achieving amazing things but the road is still long

Gennaro Gattuso, the head coach of SS Lazio, confirmed his satisfaction with his team's big win over Sassuolo by a score of 6-2, but he emphasized the need to continue working and not to be deceived by positive results, pointing out that the team still needs to develop in some areas.

Gattuso said in his statements after the match: "We are achieving amazing things, but we still have a long way to go. We must continue to work this way and focus on each match individually, as looking at the standings may lead us to believe we are better than we actually are."

Lazio's coach added: "What I like most is the mentality of the team. When we do not press as we should and do not advance towards the opponent, we must learn how to organize our defense. The numerical disadvantage of Sassuolo helped us, but we also struggled in other matches despite having the numerical advantage."

Gattuso continued his talk, emphasizing the importance of maintaining offensive pressure and continuous movement, stating that his team becomes more dangerous when playing with this strength and drive, while also needing to improve their handling of matches after taking the lead.

Speaking about Tijani Nosslin's performance, who scored two goals in the match, Gattuso said: "His importance is not limited to scoring goals, but also extends to the pressure he exerts on the opponents. We need to continue working with the same spirit, with the desire to put in the effort and enjoy playing."

Lazio's coach concluded his statements by stressing the necessity of not forgetting the tough moments, explaining that the team needs to prepare well for the negative periods it may face in the future, as victories make everything easier, but the real test will come when facing difficulties.
