Eiraola reassures Liverpool fans about Wirtz ahead of Chelsea clash
Andoni Iraola, Liverpool's manager, has confirmed his optimism regarding the readiness of German Florian Wirtz to participate against Chelsea in the match scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Final of the EFL Cup, despite the injury the player recently sustained.
Florian Wirtz suffered an ankle problem during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brighton in the Premier League last Sunday, before leaving the pitch in the 65th minute, raising some concerns about his ability to be fit for the upcoming match.
Andoni Iraola said during the press conference before the match: "Florian Wirtz has been in good shape for the most part, and I am very optimistic that he will be available to participate," explaining that the final decision will be made after monitoring the player's condition and the team's final training.
Meanwhile, the manager expressed caution regarding the possibility of Dominik Szoboszlai and Víctor Muñoz participating, noting that their chances of making it to the match seem lower than those of Florian Wirtz. He also confirmed that Liverpool will make some changes to their lineup while maintaining their goal of qualifying for the next round of the competition.
