Harry Kane, the English star and Bayern Munich forward, has been awarded the Gerd Müller Trophy for the best striker in the world for 2026 during the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony held in the British capital, London, following an exceptional season in terms of scoring.
Harry Kane received the award from English football legend Alan Shearer, in recognition of the remarkable numbers the England striker achieved while wearing the Bayern Munich shirt, having scored 73 goals and assisted another 8 during the season.
Harry Kane has not only excelled individually but has also led Bayern Munich to three titles: the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the DFL-Supercup.
Harry Kane said after receiving the award: "Thank you to everyone. First of all, I would like to thank those responsible for the Ballon d'Or award and 'France Football' magazine."
He added: "It has been an amazing year for me; a year I feel great pride in what I have achieved. Without a doubt, this has been the best season I have ever had."
He concluded, "Scoring this number of goals is the result of a complete team effort. I have a fantastic team around me, helping me stay humble and grounded, and my wife Kate, we are in this journey together; and I know that achieving all of this would not have been possible without you by my side."
